Who
installs Blockwatch Signs?
Blockwatch signs are the result of neighbors getting together,
purchasing the signs and needed materials, arranging any needed
permits and then doing the installation.
What
else do we have to do?
In addtion to buying the signs, neighbors will need to buy the
recomended 10 foot steel pole, clamps, screws, and cement. It
is recomended that the the poles be set in concrete, two feet
into the ground.
If the sign is not on private property, a (free) permit must be
obtained first.
What
else do we need to know?
1. It is illegal to post Neighborhood Watch signs on utility poles.
2. If signs are posted on private property, no permit to post
the signs is necessary.
3. To post the signs in parking strips, a "street use permit"
from the Seattle Department of Engineering is required. Contact
John Zavis 684-5267.
4. Coat the signs with vaseline to protect them from graffiti.
