Yoga Workshop with Terilyn Wyre – Sun, May 27

SvadhisthanaSun May 27, 7-9pm
$20

Terilyn Wyre will be offering yoga workshops on the last Sunday evening of each month.

From Terilyn:
In these workshops you can always anticipate asana, pranayama, mantra and a 30 min guided meditation that correspond to the theme.

Svadhisthana chakra the sacral centre or, more literally, the “the dwelling place of the self”.

“Sva” means “that which belongs to itself” and “dhisthana” meaning “its actual place” — indicating just how crucial this chakra is in our lives.

The tasks of the second chakra include allowing for emotional and sensual movement in our life, opening to pleasure, and learning how to “go with the flow.”

Let me know if you’re coming yogis so I can plan accordingly. Namaste.

Intro to Reiki class coming April 24

Eileen Dey of The Reiki Training Program

Introduction to Reiki
Reiki (pronounced ray-kee), is a Japanese word derived from ‘Rei’(Universal wisdom) and ‘Ki’(life force energy’). It is an ancient healing method that rebalances the energy field (aura, electro-magnetic field) surrounding and infusing the physical body. By releasing energy ‘blocks’ Reiki helps restore the natural flow of life force, thus helping restore a person to physical, psychological and spiritual health. Eileen Dey, M.A., LMHC founder of the only state-certified vocational school of Reiki www.reikitrainingprogram.com in Highland Park presents this informative and hands-on talk. Free!

Bootcamp/Fitness Class – free demo Tues Aug 9 – 7pm

Check out the Bootcamp/Fitness Class free demonstration (Tues Aug 9, 7pm) for a series that neighbor and personal trainer Sarah Swanson plans to offer.

Sarah says, “I’d love to do a class where moms or dads could bring their kids with them if they wanted.  My idea is to start a morning class series Tues/Wed/Thurs somewhere between a 6:30 or 7:30 start time with an emphasis of resistance type training without a lot of equipment on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Wednesday being more of a cardio bootcamp day/ and recovery stretching.  A class I would offer would not be limited to active or “fit” individuals, but anyone wanting to improve themselves.”
